Fitzroy Wickham, PhD student at Oxford University (UK) in Neuroscience and 2021 Rhodes Scholar. Fitzroy was a CADSTI-NE intern at Voyager Therapeutics in 2019 and the SPISE 2015 Delta Airlines Scholar. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 2021 with a B.S. in Neurobiology and Behavior. He was inspired through our programs to reach for his dreams – – – to see the world and meet and learn from people of all backgrounds, and to do research on neurodegenerative diseases, like the Alzheimer’s work he did during his CADSTI-NE summer internship at Voyager Therapeutics. He hopes to return to the Caribbean one day to encourage young people to pursue their scientific passions and ultimately, to increase the number of under-represented minorities in research and drug development.
